SSAY-IT Group

SSAY-IT stands for Same Sex Attracted Youth including Intersex and Trans and is a confidential, safe and supportive space in which young people 14-25yrs old can explore their diverse genders and sexualities.

Youth Empowered Towards Independence (YETI) is a Cairns youth service for 12-25yr olds. YETI staff faciliate the SSAY-IT Group which meets once a week for group activities which can range from sexual health or creative arts workshops through to social outings like grabbing coffee or going to the movies. We have information and resources for young people to take home and also offer social support, advocacy, referral and counselling.

Our hope is to offer an inclusive and discrimination free space for young people to come along and feel safe to be themselves with other LGBTIQ young people. Young people can come by themselves or with a friend and we can also arrange transport if requested.
