Julie Lynn's poodle skirt

Julie Lynn's poodle skirt was a hit for many women in the 1940s. The full skirt and cinched waist silhouette quickly became popular among teens and women. During this time, young women and girls began using their creativity and sewing skills to make their own versions. They drew inspiration from their mothers' factories and created their own unique styles.

Unlike the flimsy poodle skirt of today, the original poodle skirt was made of felt, making it easy to create. Julie worked with a pattern company to make the designs easily available to women all over the world. She was the inspiration for a generation of women who created their own unique skirts. A number of different designs were subsequently produced, and the Westminster Dog Show created a craze for all things canine.

The poodle skirt arose from the desire to relive the fashions of the pre-war era. As a result, it became synonymous with high class and refinement. Movies and advertisements often featured poodles and their owners. In fact, Julie was first inspired to design a skirt featuring dachshunds but received requests for a poodle design.
